thehostcover THE HOST BY: Stephine Meyer

Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.

When Melanie, one of the few remaining “wild” humans is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Wanderer probes Melanie’s thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer’s mind with visions of the man Melanie loves—Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body’s desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

My opinion on this book is it is a really great book. i have read it four times in the past year. I would highly recommend this book to all readers who enjoyed the twilight series. This book shows more of Stephine’s talent for writing and the supernatural.

Summoning us 225 The Summoning By: Kelley Armstrong

And at 15, all Chloe wants to do is fit in at school and maybe get a boy to notice her. But when a particularly violent ghost haunts her, she gets noticed for all the wrong reasons. Her seemingly crazed behavior earns her a trip to Lyle House, a center for ‘disturbed teens’. At first Chloe is determined to keep her head down. But then her room mate disappears after confessing she has a poltergeist, and some of the other patients also seem to be manifesting paranormal behavior. Could that be a coincidence? Or is Lyle House not quite what it seems…? Chloe realizes that if she doesn’t uncover the truth, she could be destined for a lifetime in a psychiatric hospital. Or could her fate be even worse…? Can she trust her fellow students, and does she dare reveal her dark secret?

I absolutely fell in love with this book when i first read it. And like all books that I love I have read it multiple times and would recommend it to all readers who love reading books about all kinda of fiction. Kelly finds a way to combine a book with witches, werewolves, warlocks, and other mystical powers in one amazing book.

images The  Awakening By Kelley Armstrong

Chloe locked in a room at the Edison Group’s headquarters. Her two close friends Simon and Derek are still on the run. Once Chloe finds a way to dodge the Edison Group’s unrelenting surveillance, she and her nemesis, Tori, escape and meet up with the guys.

The majority of the novel follows the four teens as they run for their life, living on the streets and battling the elements and other unavoidable dangers. The book is less plot driven than the first, feeling more like a bridge between the first and eventual third book than a full story on its own. However, Kelley Armstrong uses this extra time to explore the dynamics of friendships and human behavior. The characters evolve and build strong bonds.

This is the second book to The Summoning. This book ties up the loose ends from the first book while continueing their journy. They have ran into more issues and problems on the way and keep fighting to get away with their lives..

9781416989417 Hush Hush By Becca Fitzpatrick

Romance was not part of Nora Grey’s plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those who have fallen — and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

I have just recently read this book and i would call it one of the “imposable to put down” books. when i started reading i didn’t wanna stop reading till i knew what happened next. And when I knew what happened another event happened that i had to know what would happen. It is a amazing book and although I am a Huge vampire book reader when i read this book it got me intrested in fallen angels as well.

The girls will assume their roles in an intergenerational feud beyond their wildest imaginations…and in doing so, will attempt to fulfill their shared destiny.

I loved this book. I it is a mix of conflict of two rival covens and the raw attraction and hate they have for each other. This book has alot of action, sacrafice and death in it to make you never want to stop reading. I have recomended this book to four of my family members and they all loved it.

14394769Marked( House of Night Series #1) by P.C Cast & Kristin Cast

One minute, sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird is a normal teenager dealing with everyday high school stress: her cute boyfriend Heath, the school’s star quarterback who suddenly seems more interested in partying than playing ball; her nosy frenemy Kayla, who’s way too concerned with how things are going with Heath; her uber-tough geometry test tomorrow. The next, she’s Marked as a fledgling vampyre, forcing her to leave her ordinary life behind and join the House of Night, a boarding school where she will train to become an adult vampyre. That is, if she makes it through the Change—and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no average fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx. Zoey discovers she has amazing powers, but along with her powers come bloodlust and an unfortunate ability to Imprint with Heath, who just doesn’t know how to take “no” for an answer. To add to her stress, she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers: when she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny—with a little help from her new vampyre friend

Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night. She’s come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite group. Best of all, Zoey’s made some new friends and she finally feels like she belongs–like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend…or two. And despite the best efforts of her mother and step-loser John to humiliate her publically during parent visitation, she’s earned the respect of her professors and High Priestess, Neferet.

Then the unthinkable happens: human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night, straining human-vamp tensions in Tulsa to a breaking point. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she finds herself drawn into an intoxicating forbidden flirtation that threatens to distract her from the growing crisis. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night. Too late, Zoey begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves, and she must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world.

Chosen (House of Night series #3)by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast

Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird’s adventures at the school are about to take a mysterious turn. Those who appear to be her friends are turning out to be enemies. And oddly enough, sworn enemies are also turning into friends. So begins the gripping third installment of this “highly addictive series” (Romantic Times), in which Zoey’s mettle will be tested like never before. Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey doesn’t have a clue how to help her, but she does know that anything she and Stevie Rae discover about the secretive and sinister power that’s turning dead fledglings into bloodsucking monsters must be kept secret from everyone else at the House of Night, where trust has become a rare commodity.

Speaking of rare: Zoey finds herself in the very unexpected position of having three boyfriends. Mix in more than a little forbidden desire to the equation and the situation has the potential to spell social disaster of massive proportions. Then, vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. It looks like the People of Faith, and Zoey’s horrid step-loser in particular, are tired of living side-by-side with vampyres. But, as Zoey and her friends find out, things are not always what they seem…

55209398Untamed (House of Night series #4) by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast

Just ask Zoey Redbird – she’s become an undisputed expert on suckiness. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a tight-knit group of friends who trusted and supported her, to being an outcast. And the worst part is, she knows it’s her own fault. Speaking of friends, the only two Zoey has left are undead, unMarked, and unable to stop bickering with each other. So who can blame her for befriending the House of Night’s newest transfer student, the majorly hot Olympic archer, James Stark?

Meanwhile, Neferet has declared a war on humans after it appears that the People of the Faith have murdered two vampyres. But Aphrodite’s latest visions show a world completely different from the High Priestess’s promises, a world full of violence, hatred, and darkness, all because of Zoey’s death—and the only way it seems she can prevent it from happening is to make things right with her friends. Zoey knows in her heart that fighting with humans is wrong. But will anyone listen to her? Zoey’s adventures at vampyre finishing school take a wild and dangerous turn as loyalties are tested, shocking true intentions come to light, and an ancient evil is awakened in PC and Kristin Cast’s spellbinding fourth House of Night novel.

33448223Hunted (House of night series #5) By P.C Cast and Kristin Cast

Zoey is a powerful fledging who is training for her conversion to vampyrism at a private boarding school. Zoey and her circle are currently battling evil high priestess Neferet and fallen angel Kalona, who have taken over the Oklahoma House of Night. She is also dealing with power struggles among the other fledglings along with the usual teenage angst that accompanies multiple boyfriends. The plot is zingy and so, for the most part, is the dialogue. The authors go out of their way to recap previous events, which is great for listeners new to the series, but may be annoying to those who already know the back story. They also unnecessarily emphasize gay characters by attaching the adjective “gay” to all of their actions. Narrator Jenna Lamia does a good job, giving each character a distinctive voice and personality, especially Stevie Rae’s Oklahoma twang and Aphrodite’s very bored delivery. Teens who like vampire stories, romantic triangles, and the backbiting of Gossip Girl will find this title very satisfying.-Charli Osborne, Oxford Public Library, MI

42093694Tempted (House of night series #6) By P.C Cast and Kristin Cast

Zoey has her hands full coping with three guys—Heath, friend since childhood and human blood bank; Stark, newly pledged as her Warrior, a guardian with a bond so tight he can sense her emotions; and possessive Eric who gets summarily dumped in the beginning pages. If that is not enough guy trouble, she is also trying to cope with the disturbingly strong feelings she has for the fallen angel Kalona with whom she had a relationship in a previous life. Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is acting weird and secretive…with good reason. Stevie Rae is still hoping that the hidden red fledglings will find their humanity and choose good over evil. And, unimaginably, she has saved the life of a Raven Mocker, one of the mutant offspring of Kalona and the women he raped, and hidden him in the tunnels beneath Tulsa. Fans of the vampire genre will enjoy this sixth installment of the “House of Night series. But read the first five books before beginning this one. Marked (House of Night Series #1) Betrayed (House of Night Series #2) Chosen (House of Night Series #3) Untamed (House of Night Series #4) Hunted (House of Night Series #5). Without knowing the back story of “The House of Night” series and the events and people who were part of it, this book might be utterly confusing. Reviewer: Anita Barnes Lowen
